After Surgery, This Little Girl Finally Has A Voice!

When your child has a problem with their vocal cords, you ache for that milestone moment of their first word! Mike and Becca Caputo were going to have to accept they may never hear their daughter’s voice if a miracle surgery had not changed things around. Maddie is a year old and was born with her vocal cords 75% fused together. Her airway wasn’t any wider than a straw. Because of this condition, Maddie had very faint breath and her voice was hoarse anytime she laughed or cried. In August, Mike and Becca took the leap with surgery for Maddie hoping for the best. Now just a few months later, Maddie spoke her first word, “Da-da”.
