Charles Esten’s “Light the Summer Night” Benefit Concert Raises $27,000 for Leukemia Research

Charles Esten continued his long-running philanthropic work with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during his “Light the Summer Night” benefit concert at Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley on June 6.

The inaugural event, which was hosted by Shawn Parr and featured performances by Charles, Lee Brice, Eric Paslay, Jillian Cardarelli, Taylor Noelle, LaLa Deaton, The Adelaides, Andrew Rollins and Deana Carter, helped raise more than $27,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Over the years, Charles has helped raise more than $1.1 million for leukemia research with his annual Light the Night Walk (7 years) and Light the Late Night Concert (5 years).

Helping fund leukemia research is a passion project for Charles and wife Patty, as their 19-year-old daughter Addie survived leukemia when she was a toddler.

“Addie has been healthy and cancer-free for over 17 beautiful years,” says Charles. “Last year, she started playing Division I soccer in college. I am honored to continue to serve as the Light the Night Honorary Chair. We raise money for this amazing organization, so that others might have the chance at the cancer-free life that our Addie has been blessed with.”

Charles’ eighth annual Light the Night Walk and Light the Late Night Concert are scheduled for Nov. 1.
